Reinforcing Early Success
Grow beyond the startup phase.
Complete Business Systems, who sells and services digital imaging solutions, contacted Lanlogic and was looking for assistance with implementing a more robust network to help support their growth. User account management, email with shared calendars; Quick Books performance, backup and security concerns topped the list. Their existing Windows workgroup installation was becoming more difficult to manage and performance was suffering as more users were accessing an under powered work station. The business was growing and IT tasks were distracting key managers' time away from more important activities. We helped them gain a firm command on their IT in the following ways:
- We performed an office site survey, including interviews with managers and the owner, and other employees in order to properly design, propose and implement an Active Directory domain using Windows Small Business Server 2003.
- We upgraded key work stations to Windows XP and Office 2003.
- We worked to protect their new email service, by providing them with an SMTP gateway filter service to combat viruses and spam.
- We implemented centralized anti-virus and spy ware protection for all machines
- We designed a more secure network environment by providing Kerberos authentication, NTFS file security, and wizard-based management features.
- We implemented a daily backup system to protect their data
- We moved their website to one of our shared web servers in our data center.
- We setup a secure VPN that allows remote access to the network for email, files and applications.
- We provide onsite and remote support as needed.
Over time we added:
- A SQL based line of business application
- Blackberry wireless email devices and a Blackberry Enterprise Server to allow them to more easily dispatch service tickets and improve communication with customers and their field service technicians.
As a result of the new design deployed by Lanlogic, Complete Business Systems was able to improve their internal and external communication and rest assured that their data was safe and protected. |
